The Philadelphia Out-of-School Time Coalition (POST) is a committee of the PA Statewide Afterschool Youth Development Network (PSAYDN). The POST model of community engagement has been embraced by PSAYDN for invigorating advocacy efforts across the state. The POST Coalition is dedicated to the mission to expand access to high-quality afterschool and summer programming for youth citywide. The POST Coalition serves as a convener for providers and participating families by advocating for resources to stabilize and strengthen the OST field locally.

The POST Coalition is part of a coordinated statewide advocacy strategy. POST Coalition leaders have supported the PSAYDN efforts to educate and build champions in Harrisburg. Philadelphia representatives have been active with Advocacy Day and other State Capitol visits in Harrisburg, as well as attending meetings with officials in the Wolf administration. The POST Coalition supports PSAYDN efforts to sustain and expand the Afterschool Caucus of PA legislators, pushing not just to educate lawmakers but also to explore potential strategies for working towards dedicated budget line items to support afterschool and summer youth programs, as is the case in other states. Ongoing meetings with PSAYDN and other members active in policy work has connected Philadelphia efforts and key leaders with other advocates across the State.
